HAUSA PROVERBS AND IDIOMS

I want to share some insightful proverbs from the indigenous hausa ethnic group native to the present-day northern part of Nigeria daily for the next couple of days. Some of the proverbs and idioms are really very interesting.

Example:

1."Mai uwa a gindin murhu, ba ya cin tuwonsa gaya."

Translated:

"The one with a mother in the kitchen, does not eat his own tuwo without soup"

Example of how to use it:
Your friend comes to tell you his job was taken from him and given to the cousin of the boss at the workplace. You may wish to throw such a proverb.
