Two minutes management course.

Lesson One ... An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?" The eagle answered: "Sure, why not." So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit, and ate it. Management Lesson - To be sitting doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up. Lesson Two ... A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy." "Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients." The turkey pecked at a lump of dung and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally, after a fourth night, the t...

Phone addiction hurts our brains

Do you want to guess how many times you pull out your smartphone each day? The number is startling. The average person checks their phone 80 times per day, often to check those little red notifications on social media. Bitcoin, Ethereum And The Parallel World Of Crypto-Finance

By Spencer Bogart While much of the world remains unaware or skeptical, Bitcoin and its crypto-cousins are quietly building a parallel financial system. It’s a friction-less system of economic networks with global 24/7 availability and advanced functionality that, in many respects, already exceeds the capabilities of big banks and legacy financial infrastructure. This rapidly emerging crypto-economic network will become the world’s largest and you, dear reader, will one day be an eager and delighted user. Importantly, this parallel financial system—which is built on the back of public blockchains like Bitcoin and Ethereum—is its own distinct ecosystem, not an “add-on” to legacy banking products. (Disclosure: My firm, Blockchain Capital, invests in blockchain startups and crypto assets.) There’s a lot of questions: Why should anyone care about this parallel world of crypto-finance? Why are tens of thousands of developers dedicating themselves to building out these economic netwo...

9 Signs You’re A Leader

By Joseph Lalonde I ’ve met many people who live unassuming lives. Going through the routines and taking care of business. Many times they feel they’re not adding value to others or they lack the ability to lead. In reality, they couldn’t be more wrong. The young, stay-at-home mom, the sophomore high school student, or the desk jockey. Each one has value and the ability to lead. The qualities of leaders can be very subtle. Look for it and you’ll find at least three or four that are present in your life. You make decisions : While you may not have the loudest voice, you have the opportunity to speak up and make a decision. Leaders make decisions. You have followers : Everyone has someone who follows them. The stay-at-home mom has her children. The quiet student has other students studying their habits. Look around and you’ll see others following you. You go where others have not : Leaders chose to go to new destinations. Are you finding yourself in places others don’t k...

4 Decisions Every Leader Has To Make

1. The decision to lead: Yes, every leader has to make this decision. You do too. Are you going to accept the mantle of leadership or will you push the gift away? Leaders accept the position they’ve chosen and steward it well. 2. The decision to wound: This decision is messy. Yet it’s something every leader will have to do. Wounding someone sounds yucky. And it’s a decision no leader wants to make. However, we all do. We wound others by having to release them from their position, passing over an idea that was presented, or by reprimanding a specific action. Leadership wounds. 3. The decision to heal: We will wound others while we lead. We also have to make the decision to heal the wounds we’ve caused and the wounds others have inflicted. That’s the great thing about leadership. We can heal and restore others to wholeness. When we have to let someone go, we can then help them land on their feet by showing grace and helping them find a new place of employment. A...

President Trump: This is a very, very sad day Speaking briefly to reporters in the Oval Office, President Trump said today is "a very sad day." He called his upcoming trip to Las Vegas a "very, very sad" one. "It's a very sad moment for me, for everybody," Trump said. "No matter what your thought process, this is a very, very sad day." How the massacre unfolded At 10:08 p.m. local time, the Route 91 Harvest Festival—a country music concert—was interrupted by the sound of gunfire, witnesses said. Police say the gunman fired on the crowd of about 22,000 people from the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, several hundred feet southwest of the concert grounds. Country music singer Jason Aldean was performing when the gunfire started, according to eyewitness cell phone video. “The gunshots lasted for 10 to 15 minutes. It didn’t stop,” eyewitness Rachel de Kerf said. As the gunfire erupted, SWAT “breached the hotel roo...
