Don't talk bad about African leaders again

The other parts of world obviously have packaged their leaders to look like all knowing above mistakes that we look down on every mistake an African leaders makes. But the corona virus situation has revealed so many things about the leaders of west to us. From the President of the united states of American to their governors. Many have been saying things that many African leaders dare not make mistake of saying them in public. Think about it for a moment that an African leader tells people to drink disinfectant as treatment to corona virus? Or the one that said there are more important things than living? Or the other one that said, Vegas should be opened and lead people figure out how to stay safe? From today I will be careful how a talk about our African leaders. My respect for them has gone up higher. I here forgive Jonathan for saying stealing is not corruption.

HAUSA PROVERBS AND IDIOMS

Image
I want to share some insightful proverbs from the indigenous hausa ethnic group native to the present-day northern part of Nigeria daily for the next couple of days. Some of the proverbs and idioms are really very interesting. Example: 1. "Mai uwa a gindin murhu, ba ya cin tuwonsa gaya." Translated: "The one with a mother in the kitchen, does not eat his own tuwo without soup" Example of how to use it: Your friend comes to tell you his job was taken from him and given to the cousin of the boss at the workplace. You may wish to throw such a proverb.

The BIG PICTURE in LOCKDOWN if I may say

A statement signed by the commissioner for Information, Malam Muhammad Garba said the commissioner was removed following his unguarded utterances against the person of the late Chief of Staff to the President, Malam Abba Kyari. The action of a public servant, personal or otherwise reflects back on the government and therefore, the Ganduje administration would not tolerate people in official capacities engaging in personal vendetta or otherwise.   According to the statement, late Abba Kyari had led a life worthy of emulation by serving his country to the best of his ability.

Image
The Head, European Union Delegation to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Amb. Ketil Karlsen, has said that the N21bn (€50m) donated to Nigeria by the EU is largely meant for the poor. “That is why part of the €50m we provide will also be for the relief and safety net for the most vulnerable people, internally displaced persons. The poor people that depend on the informal markets, they do day-to-day work to put food on their table; the elderly, IDPs, and these, particularly, vulnerable people are the centre-stage of our intervention,” he said. Earlier, he had said that the donation was also meant for the provision of Personal Protection Equipment, kits, and to double the testing capacity for Covid-19 in the country. Fielding questions from journalists in Abuja on Tuesday, shortly after announcing the €50m donation at the Presidential Villa, Karlsen said the fund, which would be administered by the United Nations would increase the capacity of COVID-19 treatment in the country. Coronavirus: More than two million cases confirmed globally, over 126,000 deaths

Image
The worldwide number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surpassed two million, a figure that doubled in less than two weeks. About 76, 000 deaths have been recorded in 13 days, bringing the total number of fatalities to over 126,000. There is no vaccine yet for the COVID-19 but experts believe the darkest days are almost over as the lack of fresh hot spots globally yielded a ray of optimism and fueled discussions about how some nations might begin to reopen. But the World Health Organization (WHO) cautioned patience before lifting social distancing restrictions, noting that the repercussions of any premature end to lockdown could be more deadly. The brunt of the coronavirus has been felt most heavily in the U.S., Italy, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and southeast Asia. The disease is gradually starting to wreak havoc in Africa and South America and the WHO is particularly concerned about the ability of the poorest countries in the world to control the diseas...

Trump’s name printed on stimulus cheques

Image
In unprecedented move, Treasury orders Trump’s name printed on stimulus cheques. By  Lisa Rein The Treasury Department has ordered President Trump’s name be printed on stimulus cheque the Internal Revenue Service is rushing to send to tens of millions of Americans, a process that could slow their delivery by a few days, senior IRS officials said. The unprecedented decision, finalized late Monday, means that when recipients open the $1,200 paper cheque the IRS is scheduled to begin sending to 70 million Americans in coming days, “President Donald J. Trump” will appear on the left side of the payment. It will be the first time a president’s name appears on an IRS disbursement, whether a routine refund or one of the handful of cheques the government has issued to taxpayers in recent decades either to stimulate a down economy or share the dividends of a strong one But the president is not an authorized signer for legal disbursements by the U.S. Treasu...

Trump halts World Health Organization funding over handling of coronavirus outbreak

Image
President Donald Trump announced Tuesday he is halting funding to the World Health Organization while a review is conducted. Trump said the review would cover the WHO's "role in severely mismanaging and covering up the spread of Coronavirus." Trump's announcement comes in the middle of the worst global pandemic in decades and as he angrily defends his own handling of the outbreak in the United States. "Had the WHO done its job to get medical experts into China to objectively assess the situation on the ground and to call out China's lack of transparency, the outbreak could have been contained at its source with very little death," Trump said. His decision to withdraw funding from the WHO follows a pattern of skepticism of world organizations that began well before the coronavirus pandemic. Trump has questioned US funding to the United Nations, withdrawn from global climate agreements and lambasted the World Trade Organizat...

COVID-19 IS CHINESE VIRUS

By @Africa's First Born Nearly 2400 years ago, in ancient Greece, Plato discussed the importance of population control. Aristotle advocated the use of abortion and infanticide. In 1798 an essay on principle of population control was written by Thomas Malthus where he outlined the idea of positive checks which are diseases, wars, disasters, famines and genocides. Malthus argued these mediums should be used to keep population growth under check (human misery was a necessity). In 1859 Charles Darwin published, "The Origin of Species", in that book he hinted on the implication of.. human population. However, his cousin Sir Francis Galton, became obsessed with that idea. In 1883 Galton published,"Inquires into Human Faculty and his Development" where he introduced the concept of EUGENICS (rooted in the Greek word of "NOBLE BIRTH"). As early as the late 1800s EUGENICS (race superiority) became an academic discipline in many renowned Universities in th...
