Record league holders in Spain and England go against each other but more the reputation of their 1st team managers is one to debate on!! Jose Morinho in his successful career has lost only one final or neutral cup game since his break through season in Porto 2003 and is a trophy deliverer, tested and trusted in England, Spain, Italy and his native Portugal not necessarily for playing good football he is maybe a little too defensive but he guarantees results. Zinedine Zidane on the other hand who has worked with Mourinho and Carlo Ancelloti in supportive roles under Real Madrid has begun his coaching career in fifth heaven as he has achieved a feat that even the great Pep Guardiola did not achieve and is becoming something of a result guarantor not necessarily playing attacking football but intelligent football. His current reign in Madrid is a mirror of the genius of a player that he was. More fascinating is that he has not done up to 2 full seasons in Madrid but he boasts 5 trophies including 2 Champions League which makes him equal Mourinho, Pep Guadiola and even Sir Alex Ferguson record in the Champions League, and 1 La Liga and the fact he started from a club like Real Madrid calls for him to be awarded the respect he deserves. If this was maybe 2 years ago, Mourinho would have been the undisputed favourite but now it's like Zidane has been a coach for many years and he is undisputedly the best Manager in the world at this moment, you can not just rule him out. in the end 90 or 180 minutes will decide their faith but I can not help but salivate at the prospective football on show, Mourinho started an era in 2002, Pep started in 2008 and now Zidane 2016 all three guaranteeing trophies and results from the very start till date.

Manchester United and Real Madrid are aiming to start this season how they ended the last; by winning a trophy.

The Champions League and Europa League winners face off in Macedonia on tonight as Jose Mourinho goes up against his former club.

United will be vying for only their second Super Cup triumph, in their fourth attempt, while three-time winners Real are gearing up for their sixth outing.

Mourinho will be hoping to guide an English team to victory in the showpiece event for the first time since Liverpool in 2005, with United and Chelsea losing three matches between them since.

Nemanja Matic made a surprise start for Manchester United against Sampdoria last week, just two days after joining from Chelsea, so will be in contention to feature in Macedonia.

Paul Pogba and Ander Herrara will likely line up against the Serbian, but Jose Mourinho could well use some of his second string with United's Premier League opening against West Ham just four days later.

Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are suspended.

Gareth Bale limped out of Real Madrid training on last week but Zinedine Zidane insisted the forward "looked good" afterward.

Otherwise, Cristiano Ronaldo has been declared fit by Zidane and could play a part after recovering from injury.
